Construction Worker

At Lane One Homes Ltd. We create innovation for the next generation of housing. We factory produce our steel frames and provide on site installation. We handle everything from the delivery of the unit to the final finishing touches. We are currently seeking a skilled construction worker with steel stud experience. Construction works are responsible for operating machinery, assisting in carpentry work, and assisting in metal work. This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities:

Measure, cut, and shape materials to fit the building’s interior and exterior, ensuring proper alignment and installation.

Taking measurement and estimating materials needed.

Installation of cabinets, moulding, doors, flooring, trim, plywood, and frame work.

Installing soffits and steel stud walls.

Operate machinery such as skid steers and forklifts.

Assist in land preparation for home placement.

Use of power and hand tools to cut and install materials.

Collaborators with other trades, such as roofers, electricians, and plumber to coordinate work activities and be willing to assist if needed.

Inspect damaged material and repair or replace as necessary

Pick up materials from supplies as needed.

Adhere to safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment and safe handling of tools.

Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensure proper storage of materials and tools and disposal of waste.

Requirements:

Valid drivers license and reliable vehicle
Previous experience in construction
Ability to read and interpret architectural plans
Willingness to drive vehicles such as F550s and tow trailers as needed
Ability to work in various weather conditions
Good physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects
Experience with the use of SiteDocs
Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work tasks
Attention to details and problem solving skills
Ability to work well in teams as well as independently

Experience:

Construction: 2 years (required)
Steel Stud Experience: 1 year (preferred)

Salary:

$20.00-$30.00 per hour

Supplementary Pay:

Overtime pay

Working Conditions:

Working primarily indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions

Work Location:

Primarily location in the Port Kells area (North Surrey)
